is a stand alone download, not requiring you to have Far Cry 3 to
play it.

You play Sargent Rex Power Colt, A
cyber commando who is sent with his partner Spider to investigate
Colonel Sloan, their former leader who has supposedly gone rogue.
They find Colonel Sloan, Spider is killed, and Rex is left for dead.
You escape, conquer bases, help scientists, kill the massive blood
dragons, and in the end confront Colonel Sloan in an EPIC series of
battles, including riding a giant cyborg blood dragon. The hilarity
of Rex's one liners, and the cut scenes make this a truly memorable
game. It includes a lot of the same relate-able game play I've come to enjoy from Far Cry 3, with the "retro futuristic" aspect of what 2007 could have been viewed as from the 1980's.

I would overall rate Far Cry 3: Blood
Dragon a 9 out of 10. My personnel favorite quote is after you kill a
guy and Rex says “Send for a medic, so I can kill him too!”
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is available on
the X-Box marketplace for 400 points, or PlayStation Network and PC
for fifteen dollars.
